Ruchi Patel is an experienced architect. Her specialisation is in designing a wide range of projects including hospitality, industrial, institutional, villas, commercial, housing and interiors. Her firm grounding in architecture comes from alma mater C.E.P.T, Ahmedabad and her professional experience with various reputed firms. This has led her to pursue a passion into creating optimised designs that are connected to nature while constantly searching for appropriate materials and construction techniques. She is also associated with academic institutes and has worked with various NGOs in Ahmedabad & Tamil Nadu.

Professional experience

In the 18+ years since graduating, Ruchi has worked with reputed architects in the industry, laying the groundwork for her unique approach to architecture. She has worked with architect Franz Staffelbach in Zurich. She has also worked with Shilpa Sindoor architects, Bangalore and with Nimish Patel and Parul Zaveri of Abhikram, Ahmedabad developing her personal style of utilizing local materials & craftsmanship in her approach to designs. She has also worked with architectural firms Living Form & Hundred Hands in Bangalore where she handled institutional, hospitality, housing, commercial and industrial projects. She has served as visiting faculty to various architectural institutes R.V. school of architecture, B.M.S.S.A, Sir M.V. school of architecture in Bangalore.

Recognitions

Ruchi Patel has participated in various architectural contests. She won the 1st prize in the urban police station design contest and 2nd prize in the rural police station design contest by the Gujarat Police Housing Corporation. She was awarded the Gold Medal Degree in Architecture by the Gujarat State Institute of Civil Engineers & Architects. She was also chosen as part of a student exchange program to Zurich, Switzerland where she was mentored by internationally acclaimed architect Peter Eisenman.
